The popular Lookalike Tribute Festival is coming to Cornwall, featuring tribute acts to world-famous bands and artists like Queen, Bowie, ABBA, Elton John, The Beatles and more. 

Being a family-friendly event, you can expect a welcoming atmosphere along with delicious food stalls. If you’re interested in this exciting show, you’ll need to buy a ticket from the event website!

The Lizard Shanty Festival

When: 6th to the 7th  of September
Where: The Top House Inn, Helston

The Lizard Shanty Festival is a community event celebrating Cornish folk music and culture while raising funds for The Lizard RNLI Lifeboat Station. The festival will feature live performances by local shanty artists, food, drinks, and various activities. This is the perfect way to experience some true Cornish culture during your visit and support a local charity while you’re at it!

St. Mellion Wedding Show in Cornwall

When: 8th of September
Where: St. Mellion Estate, Saltash

The St. Mellion Estate invites you to their wedding show at this beautiful countryside venue. The event features over 50 wedding suppliers to help you plan the perfect day.

St Ives September Festival 2024

When: 11th to the 25th of September
Where: St Ives

The 2024 St Ives September Festival promises 15 days of music, arts, and community activities, running from September 14 to 28. The festival will feature daily music performances, films, exhibitions, art and craft workshops, and more, with many free events including lunchtime music and poetry in Norway Square and open studios where visitors can meet local artists.

There are various new acts for 2024:

  • Ray Lewis, former lead singer of The Drifters, will headline at St Ia Church.
  • Tango In the Night, a Fleetwood Mac tribute band, and The Trouble Notes, a progressive world folk trio, will make their festival debuts.
  • Rising indie-pop singer Daisy Clark from Cornwall is also new to the lineup.
  • Love Deluxx will bring Rio carnival vibes to Tate St Ives on September 27.
  • The UK premiere of Rochelle Haley’s “A Sun Dance” will also be showcased at Tate St Ives.
  • Arkangel’s “Cider With Rosie” will return with a new show at Mariners Gallery.
  • Catch the Wind: St Ives in the 60s, a new film by award-winning director Diana Taylor, will be screened at the Arts Club.
  • An Open Secret, a unique exhibition of transient art, will take place across multiple locations in St Ives.

Along with plenty of returning favourites:

  • Aspects-sponsored street entertainment will animate two Saturday afternoons on September 14 and 21, featuring new performers like Samba Cambada and returning acts.
  • The Sandcastle Competition at Porthminster Beach returns after a break due to COVID-19.
  • Open Studios will once again invite visitors into artists’ studios across the town.
  • Spot the Artist, the Rotary’s charity art sale and the Square Deal art sale will take place during the festival.
  • Global Jamming, the community collective, will host multiple events including Songs Of St Ia and Full Moon Drumming.
  • St Ives Entertains makes a return at a new venue, Carbis Bay Memorial Hall.
  • Popular performers like Molly Hocking, Bailey Tomkinson, and Bryher’s Boys will also be back, along with other local favourites.

The festival offers something for everyone, from music lovers to art enthusiasts, making it a must-attend event in St Ives.

The Little Orchard Cider and Music Festival

When: 13th to the 15th of September
Where: Penhallow, Healey’s Cyder Farm

The Little Orchard Cider and Music Festival is celebrating its eleventh year, continuing its tradition as a beloved Cornish event that blends great music, a lively atmosphere, and an impressive selection of ciders. Set in a charming orchard, the festival features an array of live performances, including big-name bands, an orchard silent disco, and a BBC Introducing stage. With options for camping and glamping, it offers a full weekend of entertainment and relaxation.

Lineup Highlights:

  • Headlining Friday night, Seasick Steve brings his signature blend of blues, rock, and Americana. Known for his raw, gritty sound and engaging live performances, he’s sure to set the tone for an exciting weekend.
  • With a sound that mixes old-school blues, soul, and 60s rock and roll with modern sophistication, Logan J Parker promises a dynamic and nostalgic performance.
  • Echo Town offers a unique mix of punchy reggae, uplifting rock, and acoustic folk, highlighted by tribal didgeridoo and powerful drum solos. Their diverse sound is sure to energise the crowd.
  • Famous for their hit “Spirit in the Sky,” Doctor & The Medics will deliver a nostalgic trip back to the 80s with their psychedelic rock and glam-infused set on Friday night.

The festival’s diverse lineup, combined with the charm of the Cornish countryside and a wide selection of ciders, makes it an unmissable event for music lovers and festival-goers alike.

Kernow Yarn and Fibre Festival

When: 15th of September
Where: The Pavilion Centre, Royal Cornwall Showground

The Kernow Yarn and Fibre Festival is a must-attend event for yarn and fibre enthusiasts in Cornwall, offering a vibrant, market-style showcase of the finest hand-dyed, hand-crafted, and sustainable products. This one-day festival brings together local artisans and small producers who specialise in creating unique and high-quality yarns, fibres, and related crafts. It’s an opportunity for visitors to explore a wide variety of products, from luxurious hand-spun yarns to eco-friendly fibres, all while supporting the local craft community.

Newquay Beer Festival 2024

When: 20th of September
Where: Hendra Holiday Park

The Newquay Beer Festival 2024 marks the eleventh year of this popular charity event. Since its start in 2013, the festival has raised £100,000 for various causes. Known for its fun, friendly atmosphere, the festival brings together supporters, including sponsors, breweries, and musical acts, creating a lively and enjoyable experience for all attendees.

As always, the festival will be a pre-bought ticket-only event, ensuring that everyone has a spot. Earlybird tickets, offering around a 20% discount, will be available online, though the exact date for their release is yet to be confirmed.

North Cornwall Book Festival

When: 26th to the 29th of September
Where: St Endellion

Running from September 26-29, 2024, the North Cornwall Book Festival promises an intimate atmosphere where book lovers can immerse themselves in a weekend filled with various activities such as engaging author events, where renowned writers share insights into their work and the craft of writing. 

Workshops at the festival offer hands-on opportunities for participants to explore their creative talents, whether in writing, art, or other crafts. An art exhibition showcases local talent, adding a visual dimension to the festival’s cultural offerings. Visitors can also browse a local artisan market, where they can purchase unique handcrafted items, supporting regional artists and makers.
